CLAIM BLOG AT TECHNORATI

To claim your blog at Technorati.com which is a search engine specializing in blogs register with them (free) and then login and click the 'Claim My Blog' link on the bottom of the sidebar on the Main Page. Paste your blog URL and hit Enter.


I used the Post Claim option and Technorati generated a code to paste in Edit Html of post editor when creating new post like this :

Then publish the Post. After Publishing post click the Release Spiders button back on the Technorati page to verify your claim. On the next page describe your blog and enter keywords for it. Once your blog has been claimed click the Edit Widget link and choose what you want to add in the Technorati widget. Copy and paste the code in a Html page element in the sidebar.

BURN BLOG FEED AT FEEDBURNER

To 'Burn' your blog feed at Feedburner.com register for an account and login. Then paste your blog feed URL to begin the 'burn' process. Feedburner will take your blog feed URL and generate a new feed URL. Copy that down and paste it in Settings----->Site Feed---->Post Feed Redirect URL field and Save. Blogger will now redirect all your post feed traffic to this address.

FULL FEEDS FOR PODCASTS

If your feed is used for a podcast, you will need to make sure you're publishing a "full content" feed in order for FeedBurner's SmartCast service to pick up links to your audio files and generate enclosures for them. To do this go to Settings---->Site Feed----->and set Set Allow Blog Feed to Full----->Save.

BLOGGER DOES NOT GIVE YOU FEED STATISTICS or allow you to customize your feed so it is essential to burn your blog feed at Feedburner so you can find out how many people are reading your blog feed. You can also modify the Title and Description fields under the Optimize tab. You cannot modify your Blogger feed directly.

After getting your new Feed URLs from Feedburner add a big orange Feed icon in your sidebar and link it to your Feeds to enable viewers to easily subscribe to your blog.
