How should you delete a picture in a published post in your blog? Here are the steps in brief :
1. Login at Blogger.com.
2. Blogger Dashboard opens if login is successful.
3. Click 'Posts' link in the "Manage: Posts, Settings, Layout" line below your blog title.
4. List of Posts and Drafts opens for your blog. It also contains the Labels list.
5. Locate the post which holds the picture you want to delete.
6. Click 'Edit' link next to that post title.
7. Post will open in Post Editor.
8. Scroll in the Post Editor window to locate your picture.
9. Click once on the picture to select it. If you are in Edit Html tab of Post Editor you will have to select the whole picture code.
10. Press 'Delete' key on keyboard.
11. Click 'Publish' button below Post Editor.
12. Clear Cache. View Blog.
If you want to replace one picture by another follow steps 1 to 10 above. Then :
1. Click the square 'Add Image' icon in top frame of Post Editor.
2. Upload Image dialog box will open.
3. Click Browse button and navigate to the location of your picture file on your PC and select it and click Open.
4. Choose the options to align the picture to the left or right or centre and the image size.
5. Click Upload button.
6. The picture will land on top of your post after which you can drag and drop it to wherever you want in the post.
7. Publish Post.

Thank you so much for your help. Today I added an image to an earlier post and too late, I realized that it did not enhance the post. I researched how to delete it and spent a great deal of time looking for the delete icon within the editing page. Further research on your site revealed that I needed to use the delete KEY on my keyboard. What does that say about my skills/learning curve? I can now honestly say I could not have done it without your help. Now perhaps you can explain how to do that thing where little spyders come and find my blog...
